The Ruston Civic Symphony Society’s Mardi Gras Ball was the highlight of the north central Louisiana scene for many years. In 2013 all the non-profits that call the Dixie Center for the Arts home joined RCSS to host the Krewe of Allegro Mardi Gras Ball & Silent Auction. The Ball is the primary fundraiser for the maintenance of the historic Dixie Theatre building and its adjacent properties. The Silent Auction portion of the evening raises funds for NCLAC’s programming.

The Ball is held 7pm-12am every year the Saturday before the weekend and proceeding three days of Mardi Gras proper, at the Ruston Civic Center. The Ball features festive local musicians, a Louisiana-inspired dinner, cash bars and loads of fun! The “royal party members” are elected from each non-profit group, with a “king and queen” chosen to ceremonially preside over the night’s festivities.

VIP Tickets are $65 each, and include entry at 7pm, dinner and a reserved seat at a table of 8 to 10 people.  Whole VIP tables may be reserved for groups or sponsored by a business. Cocktail Tickets are $40 each, and include entry at 9pm for those who wish to come later to dance the night away! Contact the DCA office to purchase.
